Greenvolt Power, a subsidiary of Portugal’s Greenvolt Group, has joined forces with BYD Energy Storage to embark on a transformative journey in Poland’s renewable energy sector. Together, they are working on two large-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) projects that are set to redefine the country’s approach to grid stability and renewable energy integration.
Introducing the 200 MW, 800 MWh Projects
The two energy storage projects, located in Turośń Kościelna and Nowa Wieś Ełcka, each boast an impressive capacity of 200 MW and 800 MWh, totaling 400 MW and 1.6 GWh. These advanced battery storage systems will serve as a crucial tool for balancing the energy grid and managing the fluctuations inherent in renewable energy generation, such as solar and wind power. By storing excess energy during times of low demand and releasing it during peak hours, the BESS will ensure a steady and reliable energy supply.
